Behind the Curtain of Kristin's Latest Series Titled "Reflections"
"The pandemic allowed me to spend more time at our family camp in the Adirondacks. I am grateful for the time I spent there; I felt freer, less stuck and more hopeful. The moments of quiet personal transition enabled me to reflect on my connection to this distant yet familiar place as it became intertwined in artistic inquiry. This intimate Adirondack destination is infused with sentimental sights, sounds and smells. My paintings are simple, graphic interpretations inspired by unique snapshots of scenes from the lake, both real and imagined. Nostalgic moments in vivid color, shape and line (Kristin Lee Mchugh)."
The Impact of Influence and Technique
"Line, shape, and space are integral parts of technical drawing; a visual language that interior designers use to communicate. My knowledge of how to implement this language and my ability to create buildable comprehensive architectural documents is a learned skill that I am grateful for. It has had an important influence on my development as a painter. The simplified architectural and organic shape in the subject matter allows the viewer an immediate engagement and connection"(Kristin Lee Mchugh).
